Mark Couch - Vice-Chair and Foundation Trustee

Mark is a company Director of Short Run Press Ltd, a local printing firm but has had a passion for sport all his life, even his time at University encompassed his passions for sport and business where he qualified as a teacher in both subjects. Having spent a number of years teaching PE he joined the family business and twenty years later is still moving the SME forward.

Time on the sports pitches didn’t end with the office job and he continued to play both hockey and cricket for local clubs and as the legs got tired used his passion to coach and captain various sides, in more recent years this has been cricket related with roles as a coach at Teignmouth & Shaldon CC and South Devon District. Mark has been part of the DCL management committee for many years and joined the DCB in 2017.

Andrew Tapson - Foundation Trustee (Finance)

Julie Fry MBE - Foundation Trustee (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion)

Julie retired in 2020, following a 30-year career in Policing (Hampshire and the Isle of wight) She realised my lifelong dream by relocated to Devon 

She gained a broad professional experience, ranging from firearms commander to the head of initial training, with Inclusion, Equality and Diversity a common thread throughout. She worked extensively with professional partners to safeguard children and adults. With particular focus on Hate Crime, Domestic Abuse and Violence and Adverse Childhood Experiences. 

She regularly, managed complaints, grievances, and chaired misconduct meetings.

Julie has knowledge and understanding of current Equality legislation and the duties required of organisations. She has a CMI Level 6 Certificate in Management & Leadership - Leading & Diversity

She has experience, within Governance frameworks, having spent seven years at a Southampton 6th Form College, and is currently Chair of Trustees at Braunton Academy, where she is Safeguarding and Equalities lead. 

Julie is passionate about ensuring young people have a more inclusive experience within education, sport and the wider social framework, which fits well with the Devon Cricket Foundation values

Julie has her Level 1 – Cricket Coaching Qualification and volunteers at Braunton Cricket Club (‘All-stars’ & Dynamos’) and captain’s the women’s team. 

Her proudest moment was receiving an MBE for work in policing.

Alison Davidson - Foundation Trustee (Safeguarding)

Alison has worked in sports management for over 20 years, within National Governing Bodies, charities local authorities and now with University of Exeter. Alison brings experience of sports governance and pathway development with a key strength in developing partnerships. She lives in Somerset with her family, with both her children playing cricket for local clubs and through school.

Clare Linnitt - Foundation Trustee

Clare is a founding partner of Beyond Legal, a law firm with offices based in Newton Abbot and Tiverton.  Clare is a family law solicitor with over 20 years’ experience.  She has lived in Devon since childhood and is now married with 2 sons, both of whom are keen cricketers.   Clare helped establish the ladies wine & wickets team at Teignmouth & Shaldon Cricket Club.  She has also managed one of the club’s junior teams for several years with the assistance of her husband, who is a qualified cricket coach.  Clare joined the Devon Cricket Board as a Director in 2019.

Lynn Madeley - Foundation Trustee

Lynn was a full-time athlete for over 15 years. She then moved into various marketing, advertising and communications roles and until 2022 was the Chief Executive of Havas, Africa, a communications business listed on the CAC 40.

In 2022 Lynn decided to return to the UK and Devon, and is now part of the senior leadership team at British Judo where she is Director of Marketing and Communications. Lynn is also a strategic advisor to a select number of businesses in Southern Africa and is an Executive Coach.

Her passion is to help organisations, brands and people fulfil their potential and her super strength is developing strategic positioning for organisations. She is still a fierce competitor who has an absolute belief that sport changes lives and she will always be found championing the dialogue around equity for women in sport. Lynn joined the Devon Cricket Foundation in 2023.

Chad Leembruguen - Foundation Trustee

Chad has over 20 years experience in leading a variety of business functions, primarily in the FMCG sector at board director level.

He is passionate about improving the quality of care provision within the children's residential care sector and consequently registered and opened a home in the South West, caring for children in need of support and nurturing care, by a highly skilled, qualified and dedicated team of professionals.

Previously, Chad was the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Hovis Ltd, where he led large and diverse teams across sales, marketing, finance, category management, insight, technical, and product development, as well as all operations on the the Island of Ireland. He has nearly ten years of private equity experience and led two successful exits, working with private equity and strategic investors.

Jim Parker - Foundation Trustee

Jim has been involved in sport all his life.  He is still 'trying' to play cricket at the age of 65 and is in his 53rd year at Barton Cricket Club.

Jim is a level-two ECB qualified coach and became involved in Devon youth cricket more than 22 years ago. He is the current chair of the Devon County Age Groups.

He has been a journalist for almost 50 years, much of that time spent working in the Torbay and South Devon areas. He set up his own media/business consultancy but is currently involved with a new publishing company and is the editor-in-chief of three weekly newspapers, websites and two magazines covering the entire county.

He sits on various business and community bodies in Torbay where he is chairman of the Torbay Together strategic partnership and Sport Torbay.
